Chance or Destiny....Part 7...

Later that day,Ronke came looking for me,she looked very distressed but she met me sleeping.
'oh my God,see person i think say dem don catch' she said to me.
'dem de catch wind'
'Jojo,am in trouble o,the lecturer had called me and said i should bring the guy that sat for the exam for me' Ronke started crying.
'omo,you better stop crying,am sorry o,i no fit show face o,you want make dem drive me comot for school?..I asked her and besides since i was not directly connected ,there was no way she would talk me into confessing.
'so what do we do?' Ronke asked me calmly
'Let me think please'
ok'
'hope you still have some cash with you?
'like how much?
'Do you know what,meet me back here in two hours,i should have something by then'
'ok but please be fast about it o'..she said and left.

I had a plan already ,i was going to talk to Zubby to go and present himself as me.Zubby could do anything for money and besides he had strong back up in the campus.I left the house and took a taxi to Zubby's place.We had a lengthy conversation and agreed on the price,I told him i would get back to him as soon as i discuss with Ronke.
I left Zubby's place  a little after 10 pm,i waited for a cab for a while and since none was forthcoming i decided to walk all the way home.

There was no side road so i had to walk on the main road and cars would pass me occasionally.I had been walking for like 15 mins,when this police patrol van drove very close to me and parked.Two mean looking officers jumped down from the truck.
'hey you,stop there' one of them barked at me.
'Good evening oga;
'Keep quiet!! Identify yourself'
'Sir,am a student of the University'
'And so what?is that why you are jay walking'
'Jay what?'..that was the first time i was hearing that word,i had no idea what it meant.
'Shut up or i shut you up,you look like a cult boy self' the second officer bellowed at me

The more i tried to explain myself ,the more the officers were getting agitated.The main 'oga' came down from the front seat and approached us.I thought he would see reason with me .

'why are u wasting time with this boy,arrest him' he commanded.

I was bundled into the truck and off to the police station,i kept on protesting but it all fell on deaf ears.
I was told to write a statement and got locked up in a cell.

My eyes took a while to adjust to the poor lit room,then i noticed we were like eight guys.

before i could say anything .

GBOSA!!!!!!! a slap landed on my face

'you no fit greet presido?..said a rough voice
